Help with Bulimia and Anorexia

Having the perfect body is a myth.  But for a lot of us we have wished from time to time for a body better than what we have.  After all, who would not want Abs like those hunks on TV or how about a body like a Supermodel or actress.

Well, if you start wishing hard enough maybe it could happen.  Right!

For some, that look in the mirror or comments from their girl/boy friend starts to get a foothold in their minds.  Then the subtle attempts to achieve the look start up.  First comes the "How-To" techniques.

This is the most dangerous and susceptible times.  This is the enemy getting into the head and thoughts.  Irrational thoughts start to form until the snap happens.

So what does one do when these thoughts start to come?  Extreme dieting, abusing laxatives, bingeing and purging, and exercising to the point of exhaustion are absolutely not the answers.

Below are seven ways to change how you look at your body and yourself.

1. Go to the library and look at an Anatomy book.  Every organ, muscle, gland and even the taste buds are very amazing.  Can you duplicate any of those body parts?  Surely, you can appreciate the complexity with how it works.

2. Have you, parents, or even friends had a beat up old car in poor condition.  Trash all over the inside of your car.  How about torn seats or broken door handles.  Think of your body as a vehicle.  It must take you, your inner self, to where ever you want to go.  Do you want your body to be pitiful looking?  Ultimately, an eating disorder will ravage an otherwise healthy looking body.

3. Change your posture when you site and walk.  If you appear tall and not slumped over you will look leaner.

4. Wear clothes that fit.  Do not think that you need to wear a certain size all of the time.  Guess what?  If you think clothing manufacturers use the same size for everyone then think again. When sizes change like this it is nothing more than a Marketing ploy to try to get people to buy more clothes.

5. Exercising is great but do not do it if you hate it.  Find one that you enjoy.  That is half the battle.  If you love it then you will definitely pace yourself so you won't over do it.

6. Do not give up socializing because your clothes got smaller.  Wear something else.  You are missing out if you blame clothes.

7. Now avoid your body on this one.  But make a list of ten things that you like about yourself.  This is really easy so do not overlook the obvious.

There are a lot of improvements that you can do to your body but known will really matter unless you like yourself first.  Remember, your body is what takes you around so treat is nicely!
